Tree Board

 Responsibilities:
The Tree Board is comprised of five (5) citizens of the City of Savannah who are named by the Mayor, with the consent of the Board of Aldermen. The Tree Board is responsible for helping plan, plant and protect the urban forestry in Savannah’s public spaces. The Tree Board assists in maintaining Savannah’s status as a Tree City USA by developing projects that enhance tree maintenance and promote trees in Savannah. Five Tree Board members hold office for staggered terms of one, two and three years.

 Meetings:
The Board meets four (4) times per year, at the member’s discretion. All meetings are open to the public.  Every year the Tree Board participates in the Arbor Tree planting at Messick Park with the local 4th graders and the Parks dept.
