Planning and Zoning Commission

 Responsibilities:
Planning and Zoning Commission  is comprised of seven (7) citizens of the City of Savannah, named by the Mayor, with the consent of the Board of Aldermen. Additionally, representation on the Commission comes from the Mayor and one Council liaison. The Planning and Zoning Commission serves to aid the City in land use planning to preserve the integrity of Savannah’s neighborhoods and business districts. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommends the approval or disapproval of lot splits, building plans, designs and specifications, which may be passed on to the Board of Aldermen for final approval.

Meetings:
The Planning and Zoning Commission meets the last Monday of the month, 7:00 p.m., at the Clasbey Community Center. All meetings are open to the public.
